We welcome thoughtful pitches that make food language, ingredients, preparation or customs easier to understand. A strong proposal has a specific question, a clear reader benefit and a scope that can be handled accurately.
What to pitch
Propose an original, focused piece about a food label or claim, an ingredient, a cooking or processing method, or a food tradition with its context. Explain the central question, why a general reader might care and what sources or expertise the piece would require. We favour useful distinctions over sweeping verdicts and familiar topics approached with a genuinely fresh question.
Before you send it
Keep the pitch concise and disclose any relevant commercial interest or close connection to the subject. Do not send confidential material, unsupported health promises or work that depends on readers following professional dietary advice. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask for clarification before considering it.
How to submit
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a short outline and any useful source notes in your message; please do not send a full draft unless requested.
